What is CAD?

Consensus-based Auction for Distributed slice embedding. The general meaning of CAD refers to Computer-Aided Design  —  the use of computer systems to assist in the creation, modification, analysis, or optimization of a design. By appropriate policy design, our mechanism can be instantiated to accommodate the embedding goals of different service and infrastructure providers when trying to deploy and manage virtualization based network services (slices.)

Code

By leveraging the CAD algorithmic approach, we built VINEA, a prototype implementation and a local virtual network testbed of a Policy-based Virtual Network Embedding Architecture, inspired by our work on the Recursive Internetworking Architecture (RINA) architecture (see e.g., our NSDI 2013 demo).
