Travel Grants

Student travel grants

IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Computer Communications is pleased to announce the availability of travel grants to select students to attend WoWMoM 2015. This will help defray some of the cost of the student's travel, lodging, and registration fees. Note that awardees will need to pay for their expenses ahead of time and get reimbursed after the conference. Preference will be given to students who will present a paper.

Student applicants should submit their applications by Friday, May 1, 2015, by emailing the General Chair, Professor Ibrahim Matta (matta@bu.edu). Please use the subject line "WoWMoM 2015: Student travel grant application". The student's applicant should submit his/her CV as an attached PDF file, along with an application letter indicating his/her academic status, and whether the applicant is an author of a regular paper, a workshop paper, a poster, or a PhD Forum or demo paper. The student's advisor should also email a recommendation letter describing the applicant's academic standing and explaining why the applicant is in need of the travel grant.

N2 Women Young Researcher Fellowship Awards

N2 Women is pleased to announce the continuation of our N2 Women Young Researcher Fellowship awards. N2Women considers you a young researcher if you are currently a student, working as a post-doc, or in the 1st or 2nd year of your new research career. These awards will partially cover a young researcher's travel cost (up to $500) to a meeting where an N2 Women event will be held. In exchange, the young researcher must help organize the N2 Women meeting. The benefit of doing the organization, in addition to the travel funds, is for the young researcher to connect with the organizers of the conference who are, typically, leaders in the research field. We will arrange for a faculty or research member of N2 Women to assist/mentor the young researcher in this task.

Support for these N2 Women Young Researcher Fellowship awards has been generously provided by Microsoft Research, IEEE CS TCCC and by HP Labs. SIGMOBILE is also supporting these N2 Women Young Researcher Fellowship awards by covering all the costs associated with the processing of the funds.

To apply for a fellowship or for more information, please see: http://committees.comsoc.org/n2women/ and click the Fellowships link.

The deadline for applications for WoWMoM is March 29th, 2015.

Acceptance notification is 2 weeks after the application deadline.
